Delaying Salvation?

Thinking about salvation may be a lot for you. You may be afraid or confused. But somewhere in your heart, you know that it encompasses a truth that you have not mustered up the strength to embrace. But why?

I accepted Jesus over 13 years ago, but I believe the Lord allows me to remember, so vividly, what being unsaved was like so that I could help someone, like you. The pressurized fear of the unknown kept me from making that step for years. Although I could feel the love of God and His arms extended to me, it was still so hard to make that move.

I was someone that enjoyed my life. But I had to go past the obvious to see why God would pull on my heart? I believed I was a “good” person. Was God calling me to be a perfect person? Perfection was far beyond my power, but wasn’t that for everyone? I had morals and decency. But apparently, that was not enough to solidify a place with God. There was something I was missing, and He desired for me to see it.

Think of it like this: You could be involved with a person, committed and in love. However, unless there is a legal license of marriage, there are certain rights and benefits you will never experience. This is what God wants you to see. A formal confession and belief in your heart is the way to accept Jesus.

Ah yes, if that were the only thing, you would have done this already. I get it. There is a lingering fear in your mind about what you will lose. Unfortunately, this is a trick of the devil meant to discourage you from accepting Jesus and allow your salvation time clock to expire.

I must be frank, there is a clock, and it does have an expiration date. This is the purpose I am writing to you. I want you to know the truth. It would be best if you didn’t prolong salvation any further. So many people have already had their clocks expire, and I do not want the same for you.

Listen, this life has an expiration date for us all. There is no secret about that. But whether a person lives to 18 or 108, an eternal home is inevitable. Life has ups and downs for all people, but knowing that you are in right standing with God gives you an irreplaceable hope in this unpredictable life.

Yes, there are things that God will require you to give up. But think about it, is anything worth an eternity of sorrow, pain, and suffering? I think not.

Besides, all of your fears are a part of your mind’s assumptions. Because you have not formally lived a life of a believer, the truth of what that involves is simply an illusion. This illusion is based on external observation. It revolves around what you heard, but not about what you know or experience.

The Bible says, “O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him” (Psalm 34:8). That is my challenge to you. Try God. Give Him your life, and I promise; you won’t regret it. The purification that you have to submit to is much more refreshing that you think.

I can honestly say there is nothing comparable to God and His love. It’s beyond the words and experiences of this world. You know how it is to drink water after being dehydrated for a long time; that’s one way I can describe God. But that refreshing feeling resides in the depths of your being, a place no one can touch but The Creator.

Again I say, don’t delay salvation any longer. The time is now! Jesus’ arms extend to you today. Don’t worry; He will help you. He knows how to get to those that receive Him.

I leave you with this Scripture:

Romans 10:9-10 English Standard Version “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

The first step is that simple.

I pray this is a blessing to your life.
