CRY OUT TO GOD

Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
Psalm 61:1 (KJV)
Crying is often thought of as the language of babies—a natural way to communicate before words are learned. As we grow, we are expected to articulate our needs and emotions. But in the spirit, a cry in prayer is a language of its own—a holy communication to the Creator when words fall short or fail.
Even as adults, sometimes our hearts are too heavy, our souls too burdened, and our spirits too muddled to put into words what we feel. At times, we simply don’t know what to say. In these moments, our cry becomes our voice. It is intimate yet liberating.
You might be like me, someone who once felt embarrassed to cry out to God. Or maybe the word “deliverance” was whispered because sometimes there's unspoken shame about needing help or admitting we have a struggle. But when I reached a point of desperation where my need was greater than my embarrassment and shame, I couldn't restrain my cry. The cry to God was released like a dam breaking—sudden, unstoppable, and freeing. In that instant, I was set free, and from that moment forward, crying out to the Lord in prayer became a regular practice, a vital part of my spiritual life. It was a liberation from the weight of my struggles, a freedom to express my deepest needs to the one I call Father.
Crying out to God is not a sign of weakness—it is dependence. Crying out to God doesn’t always involve shedding tears. It is an outward expression of what is happening inside—sometimes a deep groan, a whispered plea, or even a fervent declaration. It is communion with the only one who saves us, the Lord Jesus. If words fail, God hears the groans, sighs, tears, and unspoken expressions of our being. These cries convey faith, even when understanding is lacking.
Through prayer, we position ourselves for change, deliverance, breakthrough, and miracles. What is birthed through our cry is an encounter with the living God, who refreshes our weary and dry souls. Prayer is not just a vain cry, but a powerful tool that can transform our lives and bring about the miraculous. It is a source of hope and expectation, knowing that God hears and responds to our cries.
Cry Out to God, my prayer album, was born out of this place of surrender. Each prayer is designed to lead you into intercession, intimacy, and revival. I hope this album inspires your spirit to cry out to God. Let it lead your heart to the throne of the King so that you may receive what you need from Him.
Challenge: As you listen, allow each track to become your own prayer. Pray, weep, or simply sit in the presence of God. Let the Spirit lead you. This album is more than a collection of tracks, but is a tool for your personal prayer life. Engage with it, make it your own, and let it lead you to the throne of grace.
Reflection: Which track stirs your spirit and soul the most?
